Möja

Another island, another boat ride. This time we went to Möja which is one of the biggest island in the Stockholm archipelago, but also very far away from the city ... almost 4 hours with the ferry. We stayed the night in a tent, made some barbecue at the shore and rode with some rented bikes around Möja. The island was pretty much dead because we came two weeks before the main tourist season starts, what we haven't known until we've arrived there. On the hand it was perfect that the island was not crowded and hectic at all, on the other hand almost nothing was open. No restaurant, no café, nothing.... luckily, we brought all our food with us and had not to starve, but I was very happy to get my coffee on the ferry on our way back to Sthlm. The island is beautiful in the summer, but take a look ....

The last picture was taken about 11PM. It never gets completely dark at this time of the year.
As nice as it is on the island and as much we enjoyed our time there, you really have to be made for staying the entire year on this island. We met a couple which lives already for several years on Möja. I guess, I would go crazy, especially in the winter season.

Good:
- Vegetarian food, because even when your grill sucks and the stuff is not completely done, you still can eat anyhow.
- Midsummer

Bad:
- Those barbecue grill for one time usage
- Watching the German soccer team lose

Songs for this post:
Some stuff of Antidote & MC Hammer ("U Can Touch This")
